This module will help you build a strong team using Tuckman’s five stages of a team model. Learners get a chance to identify the stage of their team and set leadership actions to keep their team moving forward.
To become a united team, teams go through a process of growing, facing challenges, tackling problems, finding solutions and delivering results. Each stage is demonstrated by a series of functions and interactions happening within the team. It’s leaders;’ responsibility to recognise what stage their team is in the team-building process. By doing so they can provide the best leadership for the situation, and ultimately build a strong team.
The Tuckman model helps leaders understand the stage their team is at, and what behaviours they as leaders need to bring to the team to ensure their success.
